Request for amendments to Five Year Plan- comments due July 27
The North Carolina Council on Developmental Disabilities (NCCDD) uses its Five-Year Plan to identify critical needs and issues related to services and supports for people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities and their families. The NCCDD also uses its Plan to set forth priorities for funding. The NCCDD Five-Year Plan directs the Council's systems change activities from 2011 through 2016. See the full document (doc)
The NCCDD is amending its State Plan in two steps this year. Prior to the August 9-10, 2012 quarterly Council meeting, the NCCDD is proposing technical amendments to the Plan, along with initiative timeline updates. The Council will review public comment received during the initial 45-day posting period and amend the Plan, as appropriate. All amendments received during the public positing period of June 13 to July 27, 2012 will be considered.
Prior to the November 14-16, 2012 Council meeting, the NCCDD will propose additional amendments to the plan and again post for 45-day review, amending based on public comment, as appropriate. During the second review, the NCCDD will update the data sets and narrative sections of the Plan.
Please review the Plan with the current, proposed amendments for August 2012 (doc). If you have any comments, contact Kelly Bohlander by July 27 or call 1-800-357-6916.
The NCCDD thanks you in advance for your assistance.
