Five Year Plan
The NCCDD uses its Five Year Plan to identify critical needs and issues related to services and supports for people with developmental disabilities and their families. NCCDD also uses its Plan to set forth priorities for funding. Each Plan covers a five-year time period. The Council reports outcomes of its activities on an annual basis. The NCCDD Five Year Plan directs the Council's activities from 2011 through 2016. The Plan was developed with input from people with developmental disabilities, their families and the agencies, organizations, businesses, and individuals across the state. You can see our current, approved state plan, in its entirety, here.
Currently we are asking for public feedback on proposed state plan amendments.
Below are two documents: the “Current State Plan” and the “Proposed State Plan”. Both formatting and substantial changes are being proposed to the State Plan. Formatting changes include State Plan re-arrangement, verbiage changes to better reflect previously approved initiatives and other non-substantial edits. Substantive Changes include significant modifications to the State Plan, often a new goal and objective or deletion of a goal and objective. Please note that initiatives listed in italics are for reference in this document only.
Before final adoption of the proposed changes, the Council is seeking public comment about the proposed changes to the State Plan. Public comment can be sent by mail to the address listed below, or you may email public comment to Kelly Bohlander at Kelly.Bohlander@dhhs.nc.gov. The public comment period ends Monday, November 4, 2013.
