DHHS Seeks Public Comment on NC Innovations Waiver

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) published a final rule for Medicaid Home and Community Based Services effective March 17, 2014. The rule allows beneficiaries access to the benefits of community living and receiving services in the most integrated setting and provides alternatives to institutions.

Updated: North Carolina's Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is now seeking public comment on the North Carolina Innovations Waiver Amendment, realigned under the HCBS rule. The forum will be open until 12:01 AM on August 7 and can be submitted in the following ways:

  • Comments may be submitted via email to [email protected]
  • Comments may also be submitted by leaving a voice mail message at 919-855-4968

Review the NC Innovations Waiver Amendment here.

N.C. Innovations is designed to provide an array of community-based services and supports to promote choice, control, and community membership. These services provide a community-based alternative to institutional care for persons who require an ICF-IID level of care and meet additional eligibility criteria for this waiver.
