The N.C. Division of Medical Assistance (DMA) is hosting five (5) listening sessions across the state for the Community Alternatives Program for Disabled Adults (CAP/DA). All stakeholders, including caregivers of CAP/DA enrollees, are invited to join any of the in-person listening sessions listed below.

The currently approved 5-year waiver cycle for CAP/DA will expire on 9/30/2018. DMA will submit a renewal request to The U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services for another 5-year waiver cycle in May 2018.

The purpose of these listening sessions is to gather the following information from attendees:

  • Insight, interest in, and need for the CAP/DA to show need for additional waiver slots.
  • Innovative ways of meeting the needs of the CAP/DA population.
  • Strategies to better assist caregivers and to decrease burnout.
