First in Families group creates NC Sib network

Wednesday, August 9, 2017 - Through a partnership with the National Sibling Leadership Network and with funding from the N.C. Council on Developmental Disabilities, First in Families of North Carolina has created a statewide network for adult siblings called NC Sibs.

The mission of NC Sibs is to provide information, support, a community and a unified voice to advocate for other siblings and those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, in an effort to improve quality of life for the entire family and promote issues.

The group is open to siblings, step siblings, siblings-in-law or for those whose brother or sister has passed away.

To connect, use the siblings-only Facebook group (facebook.com/groups/NCSibs); or contact First In Families at [email protected] or visit the NC Sibs website (ncsibs.org).

Those who are not siblings, but would like to help, can contact NC Sibs at the website above.
