Durham Mayor's Committee for Persons With Disabilities-virtual

Description

Meetings are held virtually.  The role of the Durham Mayor's Committee for Persons with Disabilities is to act as an educational and advocacy group focusing on the needs of individuals with disabilities. One of the committee's primary objectives is to raise public awareness and foster a greater sense of sensitivity towards people with disabilities. Additionally, the committee aims to establish collaborative efforts in order to dismantle existing barriers that affect individuals with disabilities. In pursuit of these goals, the committee maintains open communication with the Mayor and other community leaders, addressing any concerns or requirements related to housing, education, recreation, transportation, and employment for persons with disabilities.
