Disability:IN North Carolina (DI-NC) welcomes Emily O’Connell to discuss the role of the EEOC. Emily O’Connell is an Outreach and Education Coordinator for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the federal agency responsible for enforcing federal laws that make it illegal to discriminate against a job applicant or an employee because of the person’s race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy and childbirth)), national origin, age (40 or older), disability or genetic information.
During her talk on Disability Rights in the Workplace, Emily will provide information on disability protections, reasonable accommodations, and employer obligations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as it applies to the workplace.
